DESCRIPTION:One Day Emergeny First Aid At Work\nWho is this qualification for? \nThis qualification is aimed at learners who wish to become emergency first-aiders in the workplace. This qualification meets the requirements for training emergency first-aiders in those organisations that have identified that staff need to be trained to this level within their first-aid needs assessment. \nHow long will it take? \nTo complete this emergency first aid at work qualification learners should expect to undertake 8 hours of learning\, typically over one day\, with a minimum contact time of 6 hours. \nTopics covered \nThe qualification covers knowledge such as the roles and responsibilities of the first aider and how to assess an incident. The qualification also covers first aid skills in CPR and use of an AED\, providing first aid to a casualty who is choking and dealing with external bleeding and hypovolaemic shock. \n  \n\n\nThe Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) course is designed to equip individuals with the basic knowledge and skills to provide immediate and appropriate first aid in the workplace. It covers essential lifesaving techniques to respond to various medical emergencies until professional medical help arrives. \n\n\n\n\nWho needs this qualification? \nThis course suits lower-risk work environments\, such as offices\, shops\, or organisations with fewer than 100 employees. \nIt is also suitable for anyone identified by their employer as suitable to take on the role of an emergency first aider in their workplace. \n\n\n\n\nWhy is this training important? \nHaving the skills and knowledge to administer emergency first aid to oneself and others is vital to an organisation’s emergency plans and procedures. This course will equip delegates with the skills and knowledge to deal with life-threatening conditions until help arrives. \nThe H&S (First Aid) regulations 1981 place a general duty on employers to provide first aid treatment to employees within the workplace environment.
