Renew Your SIA Door Supervisor Licence the Right Way

If you’re looking to renew your SIA Door Supervisor licence, it’s essential to complete a Refresher (Top-Up) Training Course. This is now a mandatory legal requirement for anyone working in the private security industry.

Why the Refresher Course Is Important

The course is designed to keep you up to date with modern risks and industry developments, including:

  • Counter-terrorism awareness (ACT)
  • Spiking awareness training
  • Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW)
  • Updated physical intervention techniques

Completing this course ensures you’re ready for today’s challenges and helps protect yourself, your clients, and the public.

When Should You Book?

We recommend completing your refresher course around six months before your licence expires. This ensures there’s plenty of time to complete all training and assessments without risking a lapse in your licence or job eligibility.

What to Expect During the Course

The SIA Refresher Training is assessed through:

  • Multiple-choice exams
  • Practical skill assessments

You’ll need to show both your knowledge and your ability to handle real-life scenarios professionally and effectively.

Stay Licensed. Stay Ready.

By completing the refresher course, you’re not just ticking a compliance box—you’re demonstrating commitment to safety and professionalism. It’s the smart move to protect your livelihood and keep delivering high-quality security services.

It is now a requirement for Security Operatives to hold an in-date first aid certifcate.

If you do not have a certificate we would complete this with you before carrying out any training directly for your SIA Licence.
